Below is a brief list of the the different activities and events that the Stoddert PTO sponsors each year. Some of these events help the PTO raise much-needed funds for the school and some are just for having fun!
Pizza & Potluck Night
This is the PTO’s annual “welcome back to school” event to celebrate the start of the school year. It is typically held on the school grounds at the end of the first week of school. It is a great way for new families to meet and old friends to reconnect after a long week of getting back into the grove of school.
This is one of the school and the community’s most beloved, annual events to celebrate the season. It is typically held in October on the school grounds with moon bounces, face painting, rides, fun and games for all ages. The festival also features food from local restaurants and a Halloween costume exchange. This year’s event will be Sunday, October 6, 2019.
Restaurant nights are a fun outings for Stoddert families to get out on the town and support the school. Local restaurants in the Glover Park neighborhood donate a portion of their proceeds to the PTO during a restaurant night. In the past, Stoddert restaurant nights have been hosted at local establishments like Town Hall, Arcuri, Surf Side, Whole Foods and more. This year restaurant night will be on October 21st, 2019.
The PTO organizes and sponsors a book fair each year. Typically, it is in the fall for one week and located in the lobby of the school. During the fair, parents can purchase books or all tapes and for all ages. The fair’s proceeds are donated back to the school either in the form of cash or books for the classrooms. This year’s book fair will be held December 9-13 2019.
Family Fun Night
This is a fun, casual night for all of Stoddert’s families to get out of the house in the winter and spend time together. Typically, held in February, Family Fun Night features pizza, a moon bounce and lots of games for all to enjoy. Family Fun Night will be on February 8, 2020.
International Day & Night
Stoddert has a very diverse international population with students hailing from all over the world. This annual event celebrates the school’s diverse international culture. The day typically includes an assembly with performances by each classroom, and the night features a party for all of the Stoddert families to enjoy. International Day will be on June 11, 2020.
