Dear Stoddert Families,
The Stoddert staff, in cooperation with our Reopening Community Corps (RCC), continues to work hard as we prepare for Term 3, which will begin on February 1. RCC met last night, and made the decision to change the date of next week’s virtual Back to School Night to THURSDAY, 1/28/21 starting at 6:30 p.m.
All families – not just families of students who will be returning to in-person learning – are invited to participate in Back to School Night. The event will begin with a whole-school presentation by Assistant Principal Villegas and myself, followed by individual classroom presentations. Families will receive two separate Zoom invitations: an invitation for the whole-school presentation, and a separate invitation for classroom presentations.
Here’s an update on Term 3 in-person seats, current as of 7:00 a.m. on Friday, 1/22/21:
As you are aware, all classroom rosters will change for Term 3. This does not mean that every child will be moved to a different classroom, but it does mean that every classroom will have changes to its roster. Early next week teachers will send a welcoming message to all students who will be new to their classrooms.
If your child will be returning to in-person learning for Term 3:
- Your child’s immunizations must be current.
- You will receive a detailed communication from me early next week. That communication will include information about entry and exit times and locations, breakfast, lunch, and recess procedures, safety protocols, and more.
- NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS on Friday, 1/29/21 – this is a Professional Development and Records Day for teachers.
- Tech difficulties: call the Stoddert Tech Hotline at 202-480-9474.
As always, thanks for your continued support.
