Dear Stoddert Families,
I hope this message finds you well, and I sincerely thank you for all you’re doing for your children during these challenging times.
The following information about DCSP operating status for next week was released to principals yesterday:
- Monday, 1/18 Holiday – no school for students and staff. Buildings are closed.
- Tuesday, 1/19 No school for students and teachers. Buildings are closed.
- Wednesday, 1/20 Holiday – no school for students and staff. Buildings are closed.
- Thursday, 1/21 Regular school day
- Friday, 1/22 Regular school day
We’ve been busy this week extending in-person seat offers for Term 3, which will begin on February 1. Seats are offered first to those students who had previously accepted an in-person seat in the original return-to-school plan. After those seat offers are extended, seats are offered in wait-list order.
Our reopening plan was detailed in last week’s update, so I won’t go into detail again. But as a reminder, 2nd-grade and 4th-grade will be piloting a half-day model, with two teachers in each of those grade levels. Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th-grade will use a full-day model, with one in-person classroom in each of those grade levels. We have a total of 131 in-person seats available for Term 3. As of 9:00 a.m. today, 85 of those in-person seats have been filled. Here’s a breakdown by grade level:
It is important to note that all classroom rosters will change for Term 3. This does not mean that every child will be moved to a different classroom, but it does mean that every classroom will have changes to its roster. Our teachers and our Reopening Community Corps are creating plans – including another virtual Back to School Night – to facilitate a smooth transition for students and families.
Tech difficulties. Last but certainly not least, remember: Call the Tech Hotline at 202-480-9474.
As always, thanks for your continued support.
