Dear Stoddert Families,
It was great seeing so many of you at last Wednesday’s Town Hall! When in-person learning resumes, Town Halls will be held in the gym every Friday morning. Until then, we’re able to hold them virtually on Wednesday mornings thanks to PTO’s purchase of a large-event Zoom license. This is another example of how PTO supports our school!
Our teachers are successfully adjusting to the challenges of distance learning, and working hard to continually improve their virtual instruction. The first two weeks of school have been spent getting to know their students, and their learning styles and needs. Based upon that knowledge, teachers are now poised to increase the amount of differentiated small-group instruction.
The assistance you provide your children during distance learning is much appreciated, but teachers have asked me to pass this request on to you: PLEASE DON’T DO THE WORK FOR YOUR CHILDREN, OR ANSWER QUESTIONS FOR THEM.
If you have not yet picked up your child’s Eureka Math workbooks, please do so as soon as possible. The workbooks are in the lobby on clearly marked (by grade level) tables.
We’ve received another shipment of electronic learning devices from DCPS, and those devices are now ready for distribution to students. Parents need to reserve a time slot to come pick up the device for their student. Several time slots are still available THIS AFTERNOON. To reserve a time slot please click here.
Terri Thompson is available to assist you with technology concerns. You can contact Terri on our Technology Hotline number: 202-480-9474.
Please mark your calendars: Back-to-School Night will be held on Thursday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m. The agenda will include an administrative presentation, an important PTO meeting including budget adoption, and classroom presentations. You will receive two invitations: one invitation for the large-group administrative presentation and PTO meeting, and a separate invitation from your child’s teacher for the classroom presentations.
As always, thanks for your continued support.
Principal Bryant and Assistant Principal Villegas
