May 15, 2020
Dear Stoddert Families,
Thanks for another successful week of Distance Learning. We truly appreciate your collaboration!
What Will Next School Year Look Like?
That is the burning question for all of us. By the time you read this update, we may have a better understanding, because Mayor Bowser has scheduled a major press conference on May 15. Additionally, AP Scott and I will be participating in a DCPS Leadership Academy on Monday, May 18, and I expect to receive more information during that event. I’ll share further information with you as soon as possible.
Classroom and Locker Cleanout
We’ve designed a thoughtful process to allow students and their parents to retrieve personal items from classrooms and lockers while maintaining safe social distancing. Therefore, it’s very important that families abide by the specific time of day that’s been scheduled, and by this daily schedule:
Classroom and Locker Cleanout Schedule (Masks and Gloves Required)
Tues. May 19 & 26 | Wed. May 20 & 27 | Thurs. May 21 & 28 |
Ford-Barnum Guaraldo Gross Jacobs Bruno Marquez Dingledine | Devore Brandt Collier O’Beirne Busick Prosser Golland | Mundell Provenzano-Hills Lasov Caccavale Turmail Gillespie |
Additional Dates for Library Book and Fillmore Instrument Return
There are still several library books and a few Fillmore instruments that need to be returned. You may return those items to the clearly marked tables in the Stoddert lobby when you come to collect your child’s belongings. Please make sure Fillmore instruments are labeled with your child’s name.
Please Complete Enrollment for SY20/21
Many thanks to those families who have already completed the enrollment process. If your family has not yet completed that process, please do so as soon as possible. To complete enrollment forms online, visit the DCPS enrollment website //enrolldcps.dc.gov/. There will also be a Fillable PDF version of the enrollment packet for families who cannot complete the new electronic submission process.
To enroll, all you need is an email address and information for each of your students. Current Stoddert families will need to upload of proof of residency form and those new to Stoddert also need to upload a proof of birth document for each student. At this point in the process, there is no need to submit DC Health Certificates. Schools will be notified when an electronically submitted enrollment packet is ready for review and signature. If additional follow-up with families is needed, schools will reach out to the enrolling family to request the needed information.
Why is it so important to enroll your children now? Knowing the number of children returning to Stoddert allows Stoddert to best allocate resources and staffing for our growing student population, while managing class size. And the sooner we meet our projected enrollment numbers, the better!
For more detailed information on changes in enrollment, please see the district’s Frequently Asked Questions. The DCPS Enrollment Team is available to answer questions at enroll@k12.dc.gov or (202) 478-5738.
Supply Boxes
SY20/21 supply boxes are now available for purchase. This is a great way to safely get your back-to-school shopping done in minutes without ever leaving home. Ordering will occur through Sprout, and your child’s supplies will be delivered directly to Stoddert and waiting for your child on the first day of school. Be sure to order a supply box for the grade level your child will be in next year.
Stoddert’s store is located at www.sproutsupplies.com/supplykits, and Stoddert’s code is SES002.
