Dear Stoddert Families,
Teacher Appreciation Week Video
On behalf of all Stoddert staff members, I want to thank our students who submitted “appreciation photos” which the PTO used to create a heart-warming video in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week. This video illustrates how much our students care about and miss their teachers, and I know that that our teachers and staff miss them just as much! We hope you enjoy the video. Our goal is to have 100% of our current students in PK4-4th grades enrolled for SY20/21 by Wednesday, May 13. Even though the school building is closed, enrollment can be done electronically. To complete enrollment forms online, visit the DCPS enrollment website //enrolldcps.dc.gov/. There will also be a Fillable PDF version of the enrollment packet for families who cannot complete the new electronic submission process.

To enroll, all you need is an email address and information for each of your students. Current Stoddert families will need to upload of proof of residency form and those new to Stoddert also need to upload a proof of birth document for each student. At this point in the process, there is no need to submit DC Health Certificates. Schools will be notified when an electronically submitted enrollment packet is ready for review and signature. If additional follow-up with families is needed, schools will reach out to the enrolling family to request the needed information. Once the forms have been successfully completed and required documentation submitted, the school will electronically sign the enrollment packet. Once the packet is signed, it is considered final and the family is fully enrolled.
Why is it so important to enroll your children now? Knowing the number of children returning to Stoddert allows Stoddert to best allocate resources and staffing for our growing student population, while managing class size. And the sooner we meet our projected enrollment numbers, the better!
For more detailed information on changes in enrollment, please see the district’s Frequently Asked Questions. The DCPS Enrollment Team is available to answer questions at enroll@k12.dc.gov or (202) 478-5738.
Supply Boxes
SY20/21 supply boxes will be available for purchase beginning on Friday, May 1. Ordering will occur through Sprout, just as it has for the last several years. Ordering information is posted here on this website, and also sent out to parents from classroom teachers.
Library Book and Fillmore Instrument Return
Stoddert students love to read, as evidenced by the fact that we have approximately 1,000 library books that need to be returned to school. Those books can be returned to Stoddert on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
- Books can be placed on clearly marked tables immediately inside the main entrance doors.
- Masks and gloves will be required to enter the building.
- Only one family at a time will be allowed to enter.
A few Stoddert students still have Fillmore instruments that need to be returned. Those instruments can also be returned on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15. The instruments can be placed under the “Fillmore Instrument” sign on the brick wall to the left of the main entrance doors. The safety protocols listed above will apply for instrument return, also.
