March 16, 2020
Dear Stoddert Families,
Stoddert teachers are working hard today to plan for continuity of learning while school is not in session after Spring Break. They will all be communicating regularly, and will be available to engage with your children for four hours each day, starting on Tuesday, March 24th. It is important that you and your children view March 24-31 not as an extension of Spring Break, but rather as distance learning time.
In the meantime, please give your children some “time off” during our Spring Break days of March 16-23. They need some time to relax and decompress, and be ready to fully engage when distance learning begins on the 24th.
DCPS-prepared learning materials will be available for you to access on Canvas, starting on Friday, March 20th. Effective on that date you will be able to access the Continuity Canvas Portal at the following web address or URL: bit.ly/DCPS_ICP. You can also click here. There will be no required log-in.
For those who do not have online access, hard copies of those DCPS-prepared materials will be available in the Stoddert office from 8:30am -3:30pm on Thursday (3/19), Friday (3/20) and Monday (3/23). If at all possible, access those materials online, rather than coming to the office to pick up hard copies.
Your children’s teachers will provide more specific and personalized learning materials in their daily communications. We love our Stoddert students and families, and will do all that we can to provide support during these challenging times.
One more thing. Nurse Carlson will be at Stoddert on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. If any parents need to pick up their child’s medication, they can do so on those days.
As always, thanks for your continued support.
