
1) Politics and Prose Book Fair and Comet Fundraiser
Sunday, March 15, 2020 – 10:00am – 8:00pm Join us at Politics and Prose (5015 Connecticut Ave., NW) on Sunday, March 15th from 10am until 8pm. Whenever anyone buys a book (or anything! DVD! puzzle! birthday card!) and tells the cashier they are shopping for Stoddert, Politics and Prose will donate 20% of their purchase to Stoddert. Interested families can also purchase a book from your teacher’s “wish list” to donate for classroom use. Don’t forget to mention Stoddert at check out! Comet Ping Pong (5037 Connecticut Ave, NW, right next door!) will join in on the event. For every group that visits Comet on March 15th and writes “Stoddert” on the bill, Comet will donate 15% to Stoddert. Last year this event was a big success and we raised more money for Stoddert than any recent year! Please help us make this event a success once again! Volunteers still needed for this event. 2) *Further Information on TBD Event Status
A) STODDERT AUCTION: Our awesome Co-Chairs are working extremely hard to RESCHEDULE the Auction for later this spring. For parents who have prepared AUCTION BASKETS, please hold onto them until further notice. We will communicate further about this, including potential date changes for the ONLINE AUCTION as well. Stay tuned.
B) STODDERT HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS EVENT: Should this event be cancelled or postponed, those who purchased tickets online should be contacted by contacted by the event organizer.
C) STODDERT STEM FAIR: Principal Bryant, the Stoddert SERT (Special Emergency Response Team) are working hand in hand with DCPS and DCHealth to evaluate the impact the coronavirus should have on future events. Stay tuned.
3) Town Hall Suspension and Indoor Lineup Clarification
In accordance with the DCHealth and DCPS coronavirus response recommendations, Town Hall at Stoddert will be suspended until further notice. During inclement weather when indoor lineup is required, the indoor lineup shall proceed as follows:
- Students in 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 5th grade will report directly to their classrooms on indoor lineup days.
- Students in 3rd grade and 4th grade will continue to line up in the gym.
4) **Stoddert Coronavirus Communications Clarified**
A) Stoddert Specific Updates: Going forward Stoddert Communications will use //www.stoddert.org/ and the email blasts you’ve been receiving to attempt keep you up to date on all Stoddert-specific coronavirus updates from DCPS and Principal Bryant. If you subscribe to the Chalkboard, our weekly Sunday email blast, you will also receive all email blasts from Stoddert Communications.
B) Districtwide Updates: For DCPS coronavirus updates impacting ALL District public schools, Stoddert families MUST remember that the most up to date coronavirus information will be ALWAYS be found at the following DCPS sources:
