Dear Stoddert families, August 26, 2019
Welcome to or welcome back to Stoddert! This will be my fourth year here as an instructional coach with a focus on literacy. I’m excited to start a new school year with your child and teachers. What does an instructional coach do, you might ask? My main role is to support teachers and provide ongoing professional learning through-out the school year. My priority is to ensure that our children get their learning needs met and to support teachers. Our hope is by working together we can best meet all of our student’s diverse needs.
I have been in the field of education for over 20+ years. I first began as a Kindergarten and first grade teacher and then became a reading specialist serving children from grades K-5. I do love working with students and putting ideas into practice. You might see me working with students in small groups, meeting with teachers to plan informative lessons, or behind a computer analyzing our school data.
The one thing that I cherish about working at Stoddert is the diversity of families and students that come to our school. I love learning about other people’s story and their cultures just within our school. This is a rich community in many ways and I’m grateful to be here.
I look forward to meeting you all, please don’t hesitate to stop and introduce yourself. Happy new school year!
