There are several groups at the local and city level that advocate on behalf of DC Public Schools. We hope you will help the Stoddert community continue to have a seat at the table.
Chancellor’s Parent Cabinet – Kaya Henderson, DCPS Chancellor, has convened a cabinet comprised of parents (and prospective parents) from all 8 Wards to discuss and shape DCPS school policy. Three representatives from each Ward are chosen from submitted applications (see below). Currently Stoddert has two seats on the council – more than any other school in the District.
Meetings are held once a month at DCPS Headquarters and are three hours in duration with dinner included. The 2015-2016 Cabinet has two Stoddert parents, Thomas Strike (parent of 4th grader and 1st graders) and Andre Carter (parent of 3rd grader). Nominations and applications for the 2016-2017 Cabinet are due by October 1, 2015 by 11:59 p.m. Please visit the following link to learn more http://dcps.dc.gov/page/chancellors-parent-cabinet-become-member
Ward 3 Wilson Feeder Network – otherwise known at W3EdNet brings together school communities of the Wilson feeder pattern to promote a better public school system for all Washingtonians. The group is open to all parents of schools that feed to Wilson High School. Find out more at https://www.facebook.com/W3EdNet
