Our Mission

The Stoddert Library Media Center is a simple room with a profound mission—to expand knowledge, facilitate information seeking and cultivate lifelong literacy.

Library Media Lesons

The library media center’s academic program is designed in accordance with local and national information literacy and technology standards. Library media lessons are designed to promote reading, familiarize students with the resources available in the library media center, teach students how to analyze the comparative value of each resource and ensure that each student selects the source appropriate to satisfy his or her information need. Lessons are hands-on and instruction is differentiated. Students receive literacy instruction, create library and media based projects and participate in school-wide literacy events.
