Only a few weeks of school left, and lots to do. Please check the lost-and-found for personal items before the end of the year. PLEASE REGISTER AS SOON AS YOU CAN — there are special, later office hours on Thursdays. And please let us know if you can help pack on June 19 and 20— we’ll be moving the offices to Hardy on the 23rd.
There are lots of great opportunities to volunteer in DC Public schools, some starting immediately. These schools are looking for a variety of skills and in most cases offer flexible hours. Volunteer an hour or two and make a difference!

The last general PTA meeting of this school year was held Thursday May 20 at the school.
Our co-presidents, Mary and Mimi, welcomed the incoming principal at Hardy Middle School, Dana Nerenberg to speak with us and answer questions. She spoke about the logistics of managing two schools and about community building with the feeder schools [...]
In preparation for the upcoming math competition on June 3, Stoddert students in Grades 3 through 5 competed today. Mr. Duff and Dr. Pesek led the competition. Sample problems and the winners after the jump.
Thursday night was the last PTA meeting of the year, and my last meeting as co-president. I want to thank you all for a great 2 years. We’ve had a busy and big transition year, and yet we pulled off a lot of great things, raised money and gave support to the school despite our temporary setting.
Molly Evans and FoGP are organizing a ceremony to dedicate the co-op classroom in the new school to the memory of Miss Beth. They will install a bronze plaque and donate some special classroom equipment in her honor. The PTA would like to make a contribution to this effort, and are asking those of you who have special memories of her to consider a donation to be used toward the memorial.
What an exhilarating week for the Stoddert Wolves and their teachers. Stoddert is assessed for Autonomy School status, and construction on the new school is still on schedule. Don’t forget to get your registrations in soon.
Stoddert held its 2010 Science Fair on Tuesday, May 11 for 3rd- through 5th-graders. Students recorded and displayed the results of their experimentation and were judged by parent volunteers. Three students from the top five placements will present at the DC City-Wide Science Fair.
