Local coverage of Stoddert’s WABA-led bike and pedestrian safety programs. Don’t forget to ask your children what they learned from the class, and have them practice their good safety techniques each time they ride or walk in the neighborhoods!
Thank you to all of the students, parents and teachers who submitted Get Caught Reading entries. Congratulations to all of our participants. We are so proud of you!
This coming Tuesday Stoddert’s 3rd-, 4th- and 5th-graders will have a “salad party” in the Stoddert garden. The party will be an opportunity for the students to experience the garden in a hands-on way. Students will harvest and wash the spring greens and herbs they planted and helped grow, and then sample them with delicious dressings they’ll help make. We still need volunteers for the day and a few supplies. Details and contact information in the post.
Another special performance last week; a reminder to register and show proof of residency (the crucial next step after sending in your intent to enroll); opportunities to talk to the outgoing PTA president and Dr. C before school; more special events announced. [NEW: Note that the last day of school is now June 20.]
General PTA meeting; send in your enrollment forms now; Science Fair projects are due June 6; Summer Camp application deadline is extended to May 25.
Here’s a short list of Fillmore’s exhibits and concerts to round out the 2010-2011 school year.
Because of spring break and an unforseen scheduling conflict, Fillmore has moved the annual art show and the spring concert to a later time in May. Please note the changes.
Earlier this month Stoddert 3rd-, 4th-, and 5th-graders were invited to submit a short essay on the theme “What does Valentine’s Day mean to you?” The winning authors were Ella Gantman and Adam Bressler, both in Ms Prosser’s fourth-grade class. Their winning essays are attached as a PDF.
