NEW DATE | Parents searching for a middle school can attend DCPS’s middle school fair on Thursday, February 9, from 6p to 8p at the Columbia Heights Education Campus. DC Public middle schools, education campuses & DCPS community partners will showcase their academic programs & extracurricular activities for parents.

Looking for Volunteers for Takoma EC and Cardozo HS

Two schools, two weeks and one purpose: to ensure that Cardozo and Takoma students have a successful school opening in January. If you can help, you’ll choose the day, site and time block that you are able to volunteer. DCPS Prepares for Hurricane Irene

Today, DC Public Schools are bracing for Hurricane Irene, which is expected to hit the Washington, D.C., area this weekend with forecasted wind gusts of up to 48 mph and possible flooding. I want you to know that we are taking every precaution to prepare our schools for the storm and respond quickly in the aftermath to make any necessary repairs.

Change: Last Day of School Year 2010-11 is June 20

The last day of school for the 2010-2011 school year has been changed from Friday, June 17, to Monday, June 20. Friday the 17th will now be a full day of school. On Monday, June 20th the students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.

Summer School Enrollment Deadline is April 29

The last day to enroll in DCPS summer school programs is tomorrow, April 29. Links to the DCPS site, forms, and other information are in the post.
