Come to the Rec Center tonight and play some volleyball! According to organizer Norman Sanin, “Don’t be afraid if you are rusty, just come join in. Get there when you can, even if you come by at 8 PM you could still play for about an hour. Starting Friday, September 24, Stoddert Recreation Center is offering a teen club under the direction of Mr. Ricky and Mr. Robert. This is a Friday night program consisting of games, sports, field trips, and local activities. The kids get to meet other young teens from similar recreational center programs all over the city. It starts at 6:30p and goes until 8:00p. There is no fee to participate.
It’s time to sign your child up for the classes offered by the Aftercare Program and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation. Maria also lists some important rules about the program and registration. All forms are available for download in the post.
The DC Department of Parks and Recreation will offer DPR Spring Break Camps for District youth ages 5–13 from March 29 – April 2, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. DPR Spring Break Camps are in line with the District of Columbia Public Schools’ spring break and will provide youth with a variety of structured games, activities, sports, arts and crafts, and field trips while school is not in session.

Today, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation released the schedule for the Annual DPR Winter Soccer/Futsal Championships for March 17 – 22, 2010. Over 300 players of all ages, on 28 teams, will compete to earn the championship title, the District of Columbia Cup.
