DCPS FY12 Budget Hearing | November 29

DCPS will convene a public hearing concerning the FY12 budget on Monday, November 29, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Old Council Chambers located at 441 4th Street NW Washington, DC 20001. The purpose of the hearing is to gather the views of the public on programs and levels of public funding to be sought for the public schools.

Stoddert Beautification Day | Saturday, August 21

Beautification Day will be held at the lovely new Stoddert ES on Saturday, August 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Stoddert has been modernized, but we want the outside to be free of trash and other construction left-over items. Beautification efforts will include light landscaping, trash pick-up, light painting on the blacktop, planting flowers, and other external beautification efforts.

DC State Board of Education Public Meeting | May 19

On May 19, 2010, DCSBOE will have a public meeting to vote on the proposed No Child Left Behind Report Card. Additionally, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) will give presentations to the State Board on the District’s high risk designation, school improvement activities, common core state standards, and Phase II of the Race to the Top application.
