Commemorate your volunteer work, that winning bid, or just an evening well spent with one of our 2011 Big Chili tees. (If you couldn’t make it, you can still have a souvenir.) All proceeds go to Stoddert. The tees are 100 percent cotton, white only, with a silkscreen of the Stoddert logo on the front pocket area and the Big Chili art on the back. Big Chili Solicitation Chairs

Thanks also to all of you who bought and sold cookie dough and a huge thanks to Shari Gilbert and Jenny Epstein for organizing this fundraiser to support the 5th grade trip.

Finally, thanks to those of you who have already bought bricks! Mike and Becky Gardner, and the entire Building Community Brick by Brick Committee are doing an amazing job, but we need you to help sell, sell, sell!! The money we raise from the Brick Campaign will be used to purchase books, playground equipment and whatever else the teachers need for our new school. The brick walkway, itself, will serve as a lovely outdoor space at our school and a reminder of how steadfast our community is!

This year, we will gather on March 12, 2010, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Russian Embassy for a Little Chili Family Fun Night. We’ll have games for the kids, a small auction, and—of course—chili to eat. Auction items will include classroom art projects, teacher outings, and a limited number of “big ticket items” like our annual wine table.

Why a Little Chili rather than our usual Big Chili? During this transition year we don’t want to compete with our Brick campaign, but we do want to celebrate our community. We know this evening will be a wonderful way for all of us to come together to enjoy, have fun, and share the beauty of the Russian Embassy.

We hope to see you on March 12—and don’t forget to bring a bottle of wine!
