Patrica Patton former Principal passed away last September. She graciously donated $100 to Stodder’s PTO. Back in the ’80s we shared an administrator. Gardeners and Farmers are extremely busy during the months of January through March, and so are garden teachers! Our students have begun an engaging inquiry-based food literacy curriculum focusing on such topics as: the story of food seed to table, where does our food come from? taking a look at the newly recommended but not mandatory
A night of fun for the whole family has been scheduled for February 9, 2019. Starting at 6pm (until 8pm) when free pizza, potluck favorites, a moon bounce, a book exchange, games, music and a Valentine’s day card maker table will transform our school into a decent approximation of mid-Winter Washington DC wonderland. The first PTO meeting of 2019 will be held Jan 29 from 6:30-8 in the library. Free pizza and childcare will be available in the cafeteria so please encourage others to attend. The agenda will include: security updates, membership discussion, teacher appreciation discussion, event recaps, testing information etc.
The covered walkway has been completed and our school community is so happy with the results! Registration for 2019 Stoddert Summer Day Camp will begin sometime in the middle of March 2019.
This week Principal Bryant reminded us that another CRITICAL way all parents and caregivers can help is by donating their 2019 DC Visitor Parking Pass to Stoddert for use by teachers and staff whose on site parking options have been dramatically reduced by the temporary classrooms sited on the school parking lot.
