Attention Stoddert Community!
With the end of the school year fast approaching, local nonprofit Horton’s Kids needs our help stocking their Emergency Food Pantry for the summer! The 500 children and 80+ families Horton’s Kids serves will rely heavily on the pantry throughout the summer when school-based food support programs are not available.
To donate, you can shop the Amazon Wish List: //a.co/2K90NQ4 or drop off any of the following items in the school lobby from Monday, June 4th through Friday, June 8th.
List of Needed Pantry Items:
Canned chicken & tuna fish*
Cereal, Oatmeal, Poptarts*
Macaroni & cheese* (microwavable and boxed)
Diapers and wipes*
Pasta & sauce
Complete Meals (ex: Tuna Helper, Chef Boyardee Ravioli, Campbell’s Ready Meals)
Boxed Snacks (granola bars, chips, cookies, Rice Krispy treats)
Horton’s Kids empowers children growing up in one of Washington, DC’s most under-resourced communities where the average household income is less than $10,000 year — leaving little or no money for extra groceries when existing food benefits don’t cover the needs. The Emergency Food Pantry is the only safe, consistent, and accessible source of healthy food in the neighborhood.
If you have any questions, please contact the PTO’s Stoddert Cares coordinator, Jessica Tvelia. Thank you in advance for your support!
