Our Spring hens have arrived to the garden and baby chicks have arrived to the pre-K classroom!
The children have been introduced to our new hens and baby chicks during garden class. The hens will reside in the Stoddert garden in their rental coop for the next 6 weeks, and the baby chicks and fertilized eggs will be in the pre-K classroom. The children have the opportunity to observe the hens’ nesting habits and learn about what they eat and more.
You may even see their eggs soon at our farmers market, and all are welcome to view them from outside the fence. The children will also learn about the chicks during the school week and will hopefully get to see a number of eggs hatch in the incubator.
