This is an update on the Student Enrichment Model for the second quarter of the year.
The third, fourth, and fifth grade students have completed their first project for the year. There is a display in front of the library showcasing some of the work.
For the second quarter of the year, the second grade students will continue their work that they have already been conducting. The fifth grade will explore and base their next project on the next science unit in the study of matter. The third and fourth grade students will take a grade level vote of which direction they would like the class to go by rating three pre-created classes based on their descriptions. The three course “blurbs” are listed below:
- Soulful Science – Do you enjoy helping other people? Is sci- ence your favorite subject? Would you like to study nutrition or food science? Do you like food? Are you interested in dif- ferent cultures throughout the world? Do you want to know how the human body works? Would you like to learn about chemistry? If so, vote for your class to take “Soulful Science” next quarter!
- The BAU – Have you ever wondered about anything? Do you want to know why people exhibit certain behaviors? Have you ever thought about studying law? Are you interested in education? Would you like to learn about how your brain works? Have you ever thought about reading a person’s mind? Do you like riddles or mystery stories? If so, vote for the BAU next quarter!
- Money Matters – Have you ever thought of starting your own business? Is math your favorite subject? Would you like to publish a book someday? Do you have aspirations of at- tending college? Are you planning to own a house and have a career? What if you were able to design the money for your own country or society? Well, vote for your class to be a part of “Money Matters” next quarter!
