The following is a letter from Principal Bryant regarding recent lead tests at Stoddert….
Dear Stoddert Families,
We very recently were notified of the results of our most recent water testing. General information about those results has been posted on the website, and also distributed to parents via a letter that is being sent home with students. (Click here to read the letter from the Chancellor and a letter from DCPS on water quality.) In this communication, I want to provide you with more specific information.
Our most recent water testing results came back above the actionable lead level in four locations:
- One kitchen spray nozzle; and
- Classroom sinks in three classrooms: Ms. Guaraldo’s kindergarten room, Ms. Regensburger’s 2ndgrade classroom, and Mrs. Lasov’s 2nd grade classroom.
I have not been notified of the exact results, so I cannot at this time tell you how far above the actionable level those water sources are.
What I can tell you is that all of these water sources have been turned off and tagged. A new water filter will be installed on the common line which supplies water to these four locations, and then retesting will occur.
I will share the results of that retesting as soon as they are sent to me.
