We love our teachers, faculty and staff at Stoddert! As a school community, we will be celebrating “Teacher Appreciation Week” from Monday, May 2nd through Thursday, May 5th. (There is no school on Friday, May 6th.) This is a special time to let our teachers, faculty and staff know how much we appreciate all of their hard work!
We need everyone’s help, including parents and students, to make this week a big success! Below is the schedule of school-wide activities planned for the week. Additionally, you should also be working with your room parents for individual celebrations and ways to honor and surprise your teacher and other school staff.
MONDAY, May 2: Flowers
Please have your child arrive at school with a flower. It can be store bought, something picked from the yard, or something that they create with art supplies. Reminder to room parents: If someone in your class could bring in a vase for your teacher that morning so that they can can collect their special bouquets that would really be great.
TUESDAY, May 3: Cards & Lunch
Please work with your child to complete this worksheet or create or buy an appreciation card and bring it to school for your teacher. We will have printed out copies of the worksheet available at the table in the lobby. Parents are, of course, encouraged to send in their own appreciative notes as well.
A catered lunch, sponsored by the PTO, from Chipotle will be set up in the Teachers Lounge just for the teachers and staff to enjoy.
WEDNESDAY, May 4: Lunch
** Nothing planned. The catered lunch needed to move to Tuesday.
THURSDAY, May 5: Surprise
A special surprise from the PTO on behalf of the entire student body will arrive in the in-box of all of the teachers and staff.
Keep in mind that there are many “special” teachers and additional staff and faculty that all help to make Stoddert the amazing school that it is for our children. When you do your flowers, cards and more, please also remember the additional teachers and staff throughout the school.

If you and your child wish to do anything individually above and beyond what is listed above or suggested by your room parents, such as a small gift, a handmade picture, a special note, a homemade treat, or just a hug, know that your free to do so and any small gesture will be greatly appreciated.
