New Principal Selection Process
In the wake of Dr. Cuthbert’s resignation, the PTA is working with DCPS administrators to be active in the process of interviewing and providing feedback on candidates.
Under DCPS guidelines, a panel of teachers, staff, certain PTA executives, parents and community members will interview and make recommendations on filling the vacant principal position. We expect the interviews to occur on a weekday during business hours, and to last at least one full day. We plan to have a short meeting at Stoddert (date and time to be determined) to elect 3 parents + 1 alternate parent, and 1 parent-elected (non-parent) community member. Other panel members (about 12 in all) are elected by teachers or appointed by DCPS automatically. Please spread the word and e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to be on the ballot.
