Dr. Cuthbert’s Resignation Letter | Aug. 3

Hello to All,

I wanted to let all of you know, as soon as I was certain, that I will be leaving Stoddert and DCPS as of this August.  I have deliberated about this decision for some time and will now resign to step up my role in our family.  I will help our grandsons move to a new house and a new school in Wisconsin, and help care for them after school and when their father must travel.  My husband, Bruce, is very busy here with his work at NIMH, but will telecommute and spend many long weekends with us.  We both are dedicated to helping our late daughter’s family at this time.

I leave Stoddert with no small regret.  It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with such a devoted community.   A panel will be formed, with the direction of Instructional Superintendent Jacqueline Gartrell, to select a new principal and I hope many of you will get involved with this.  I will be here until August 3rd and will make sure that I help get into place as much as possible for the continued success of Stoddert ES.

BEST to EACH always,

Marj
