Glover Park Day – Volunteers and Materiel Needed | June 2
Below is a message about the 23rd annual Glover Park Day, which will be held Saturday, June 2, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The organizers are looking for volunteers/participants to help in the following ways:
Canopies: If you have a pop-up canopy that the organizers could borrow, please contact clmeyer202@yahoo.com. Many of the Community Service Volunteers cannot handle the sunshine, and we would like to be able to provide them with canopies for the day.
Donation of Tools: The organizers are putting together a Glover Park Day toolbox with all of the tools used each year to set up at Guy Mason. If you have any unneeded tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, box cutters, ladders, pliers, extension cords, etc and you would like to donate them to Glover Park Day, please let the organizers know.
Volunteers: Volunteers are needed to help on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2 (GPD Day) as follows:
- Friday, June 1 from 6:30pm – 9pm to make signs, put together prize packets, prepare t-shirts and many other tasks. There will be pizza for volunteers!
- Saturday, June 2 between 6am – 11am for set up, traffic control, helping vendors, balloons, etc.
- Saturday, June 2 between 11am – 5:00pm for t-shirts, prize drawings, helping vendors, clean up, directing traffic, etc.
- Saturday, June 2 between 4:30pm – 6:30pm for tear down and clean up.
We particularly need volunteers for set up (7:30am) and tear down (4:30pm) on Saturday. Note that there is no minimum or maximum volunteer time requirement, and you can volunteer at any time during the Friday and Saturday events. If you can volunteer, email clmeyer202@yahoo.com with your availability or sign up online at: http://www.gloverparkday.org/participate/volunteer
