Stoddert did not make the AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) for the 2010-2011 year. To make AYP, all subgroups with 25 or more students must be above the proficiency thresholds of 73.69% for Reading and 70.14% for Math. According to AYP guidelines:
A school or LEA that does not meet AYP should not be labeled as failing. The designation of not meeting AYP signals that, based on a number of indicators, the school or LEA is not on track for all students meeting the state standards for student achievement by the target year of 2014. The school or LEA as a whole may have strong academic performance, but the designation may be based on a single factor or a single subgroup.
Details of results for each DCPS and charter school can be reviewed at the Office of the State Superintendent for Education at http://www.nclb.osse.dc.gov.
