Stoddert Elementary

Seeking Hosts for Exchange Student Dinners | July 10

From Stoddert Parent Eric Langenbacher

Dear Stoddert families,

My name is Eric Langenbacher, father of Max in the 3rd grade. I am helping to organize a State Department-sponsored summer leadership program for about 20 college students from the Middle East and North Africa, which will be conducted at Georgetown University later this summer.

We are trying to find opportunities for these students to get to know Washington families. For one event, “Thanksgiving in July,” we are looking for up to 5 families that could host 2-3 students on Sunday, July 10th starting around 4 PM. We can reimburse expenses up to $18 per student. Also, we understand that cooking a Turkey or baking a pumpkin pie in 100 degree heat is not desirable, so grilling or any other meal would be OK. All we ask is that you discuss your family’s Thanksgiving (or any other) traditions. The students will have a good command of English. If you can help out, please email me at langenbe@georgetown.edu.
All the best,

Eric
