Get involved with your school! On Thursday, November 4th at 6:30pm, Stoddert PTA holds its November General Meeting. Childcare and pizza will be provided. At this meeting we’ll be talking about: the proposed design for Stoddert’s new natural playground; how to make The Big Chili (our annual auction) a big success; plans to seek grants to fund special programs; and any other items of interest.
On Sunday, October 3, a group of about 30 Stoddert parents, children, and community members met to develop priorities for Stoddert’s natural playground. The PTA Open House is November 18, 2010 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Dr. Cuthbert will also host several Meet the Principal/Mini-Tours on 11/4, 11/5, and 12/2, all at 9:30 a.m.
U.S. Marine Corps Band visits Stoddert; school’s out for teacher conferences on Monday the 18th; Wednesday the 20th is Picture Day; please bring your child’s health and dental forms in to the school; Halloween events are coming up.
This year, funding from the Stoddert PTA coupled with the enthusiastic support of Stoddert’s teachers has enabled all students in grades three, four, and five to use Stanford’s Education Program for Gifted Youth. The teachers and PTA want to make sure that parents have all the information they need to be fully comfortable with the time our children are investing in EPGY.
The first Executive PTA meeting was held October 7. In attendance were Dr. Cuthbert, Jinny Choi, Mary McLaughlin, Ben Jensen, Kevin Youel Page, Erik Warga, Jen Sweeney, Mitch Wander, Beth Mailley, Eve-lyn Turmail and Ginger Jacobs.
