The evening’s proceeds benefit DC Public Education Fund, a non-profit organization with a mission to dramatically improve student achievement in the District of Columbia by serving as a strategic partner to businesses, foundations, community leaders, and individual donors in supporting and investing in high-impact programs with the District of Columbia Public Schools.
The Transatlantic Outreach Program (http://www.goethe.de/ins/us/lp/prj/top/enindex.htm) offers an all-expense paid learning experience for teachers using modern Germany as a basis of comparison and contrast to internationalize Social Studies curriculum. In May we will celebrate Get Caught Reading Month at Stoddert. In honor of the program (and Stoddert’s tenth year of participation) we will once again hold our annual Get Caught Reading contest. The Georgetown Kiwanis Club will provide judges for the contest and ice cream coupons for all participants. The top four entrants will receive award certificates and a $10 prize.
Chancellor Rhee will host her monthly Office Hours on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 6–8 p.m. at Janney Elementary School (4130 Albemarle St. NW).

This meeting is for anyone interested in discussing options for Stoddert’s natural playground. We have a landscape architect lined up to help with ideas and options but have to work out the specific details for the meeting. We really want the word out so everyone who is interested has a say in putting it together.
