Stoddert held its school-level bee on Thursday, January 14. Math resource teacher Alex Treduff (Mr. Duff), was the organizer and moderator. Mrs. Barr and Mrs. Moisan offered an after-the-holiday writing challenge. Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 were asked to sign up to write about a memorable moment over the holiday break. As you know, there is no school for students on Friday, January 15, 2010. On that day, the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host its third DPR Play Day for students in grades K-8 from 8:30am – 5:00pm to provide structured program options for DCPS students. This program is free, and breakfast, lunch and snack will be provided.
We are off to a busy and productive start of 2010. The teachers and students came back ready to learn. It was a busy week starting new projects, reviewing concepts, and continuing standards-based instruction of many objectives.
