October 3 | Message from Dr. Cuthbert

THANKS to the PTA and parent volunteers for the wonderful new front playground! The students have many new outlets for their energy. The four-square numbers were painted on Thursday and are terrific. It is so exciting to have been a part of this tremendous effort. It is also great to have more balls and hula hoops to use. We have a schedule that groups one grade level on the front playground once a week so all the fun things can be enjoyed at each developmental level.

I also want to thank all of you for your efforts to have your children at school on time. The tardy rate has dropped dramatically and therefore the instructional time has increased.

Many of you have been and continue to be involved in the planning for the new school. Several recent meetings have been held and the news is that the new school is on schedule. The team is projecting summer completion. We were also asked to give input on the new playgrounds. Thanks to the parents who have done research, made trips to other areas for ideas, complied ideas, and presented to the architects and project managers. Work on what will be incorporated continues and should be terrific for our students.

Hope to see everyone at the Fun Fair on October 17th!

Dr. Marjorie Cuthbert
