The Lower Grades Love the New Library Media Center
August 24-28, 2009

"Look what we made!"
iThis week we learned that “bienvenidos” means welcome!
Mrs. Barr and Mrs. Bruce were very happy to welcome the prekindergarten and kindergarten students to the new library media center! During the first class meeting students brainstormed and discussed acceptable and unacceptable library media behaviors. Also, we learned about the 1-2-3 discipline policy. Thereafter, we read and talked about a story that reinforced our classroom discussion.
Armando Asked Why (the <ul> tag is not working) is a fun story that taught us what an important resource the library media center is for people that are seeking information. The story also taught us how to say “mom,” “dad” and “grandmother” in Spanish!
After reading we had time for a cool craft. So, we made puppet people. Then, we practiced posing “why” questions to the other members of our table groups.
