Principal’s update, August 21
Parents,
It was so nice to meet many more of our parents and students at the Open House last night, and to welcome you to Stoddert “East.” Those who were able to make it had a chance to appreciate with us the brightness of the space and the generous size of the rooms; I felt the reaction was very positive.
Last night you could also see that we will be ready for school on Monday. Everyone – teachers, crews, and parents – are working around the clock to make everything ready. Even despite a temporary power outage (as the building’s power is switched from generator to Pepco) early this morning (!), we were pleased to host a great number of parents for pre-k orientation.
On Monday, Stoddert staff will be out in force, welcoming the children at the 39th street entrance and making sure everyone knows exactly where to go. Our set up is a little unusual, but we’ll use extra caution to make sure the children feel safe and welcome in their temporary school.
We’ll look forward to seeing you then, if not at Beautification Day tomorrow.
Best wishes,
– Dr. Marjorie Cuthbert
