Stoddert Elementary

Pre-K welcome and supply list (Ms. Terrell)

**Please note there are two pre-k classes at Stoddert. You need to know in which your class is enrolled.**

Welcome to pre-kindergarten!

I would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome you and your family to Benjamin Stoddert Elementary School, and to the pre-kindergarten class. I hope that you and your family are having an enjoyable and relaxing summer.

I am sure that you and your children are anxiously anticipating the beginning of a new and exciting school year. I am indeed looking forward to meeting each family and hope to enlist your support and commitment as we pursue this challenging and rewarding school year together. In preparing your children for a smooth transition to the “big” schoool, please assist me by:

  • Casually discussing the new and exciting year he/she is about to begin.
  • Prepare yourself. Your child will follow your lead (anxiety, excitement, sadness, etc)
  • Acclimate your child to the school. Meet the teacher.
  • Assure your child that you will return for him/her. Pre-kindergartners will associate departure with a time in their schedule (example: after rest).
  • Keep good-byes short.

Any assistance that you can offer will make for a wonderful transition.

For your convenience and information, please read the list for school year on this newsletter. See you soon. I hope you enjoy the remainder of your vacation.

Ms. Diane Terrell
Ms. Sharon Smith
